Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)

Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a center of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defense services.

The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 by an act of parliament of India on the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by the amalgamation of various defense medical organizations. The "Graduate Wing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainable and steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces. AFMC 2013 Entrance Examination

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under- graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognised by the Medical Council of India.

The AFMC MBBS Entrance Examination is conducted by Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune, India for admission to the MBBS program offered at AFMC Medical College Pune, India.

The written examination is held on 1st Sunday of May. Successful candidates are called for interview in June. The AFMC MBBS 2013 course will commence on 1st August, 2013. Admission is subject to medical fitness. Students after completion of their MBBS course from this institute can work at least for 7 years in armed forces.

AFMC 2013 Eligibility Criteria

The Candidate Should passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The minimum mark required is 60% marks or above in PCB. They should not have scored less than 50% marks

in English and in other science subjects. Those who have passed any other examination which is equivalent to plus two with PCB and English as their subject Candidates should also have passed mathematics in 10th standard.

Those who are appearing in the current year of 10+2 examination before 2nd May, 2013 are also eligible to apply. The lower age limit is 17 years on or before 31st December of the applying year.

The upper age limit is 25 years. There is an exception of 5 years for those belonging to SC, ST or OBC.

Candidates who are currently doing B.Sc final year should be 24 years on the year of application. The candidate should be an Indian citizen. Those who have migrated from Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and any other country with an intention to reside permanently in India can apply. Students should not be married. They are also not allowed to marry in between the course. Candidates should be physically fit.

AFMC 2013 Seats Availability

A Total of 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to AFMC, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS Examination.

The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India.

Ten seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination.

  1. AFMC MBBS Entrance Exam 2013 follows the syllabus of class 11th and 12th standard in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  2. Questions in Reasoning and English are designed so as a class 12th pass out can answer them.
  3. Exam duration is of 2 hours.
  4. All Questions are of Multiple Choice type.
  5. A negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.

AFMC 2013 Application Procedure

Method I

Step 1: Registration & Login
  1. Logon to www.afmc.nic.in.
  2. Register online by creating a new account on the website. The candidates must note that they don’t do any error while registering as the email id used by the candidate once cannot be used again for the AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process in case any wrong entry occurs.
  3. Then the candidates should login to their accounts using the password sent on their email ids and complete the remaining steps of application filling.
  4. The new candidates have to go to the “NEW APPLICANT – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER” link.
  5. Then the applicant will be redirected to page where they have to enter their credentials to initiate the AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process.
Step 2: Online Form Filling and Challan Generation
  1. The candidates should fill the form once they login to their accounts and save the data regularly while filling it.
  2. The candidates should take care of obeying the form filling instructions to complete the AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process without any error.
  3. The candidates have to upload a digital color photograph on as per the instructions given in the brochure for the photographs failing which will lead to rejection of application.
  4. The candidates should take notice of the fact that they have to use identical photographs during the complete AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process and on the admit card.
  5. Then they have to upload the JPEG format scanned copy of their signature.
  6. After completing all the fields, the candidates have to download the Bank Challan and take its print out.
  7. The candidates have to fill the form fee via the bank challan at the SBI Bank Branches to complete the AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process.
  8. The candidates should make sure that the Bank Official has placed the stamp and written the journal number on the student copy of the back challan.
  9. Then the candidate has to enter the details of fee payment and verify the information before finally submitting the form.
Method II
This Method is for those candidates who are not able to upload the signature and photograph and thus have to complete the process offline.

These candidates have to fill the form as per the steps in Method I and then download the PDF of completely filled application form. Then the candidates have to paste the photos and sign the form as mentioned in the instructions for AFMC 2013 Application Form Submission Process in the brochure.

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Eligibility Criteria

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  1. The candidate must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. 
  2. The Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt. 
  3. The candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The admission is subject to any direction given by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, Hon'ble Bombay High Court, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and the Medical Council of India, Central Govt. & Government of Maharashtra.

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Exam Pattern

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Exam consists of two papers.
  1. The first part will consist of Multiple choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology consisting of 60 questions in each subject. 
  2. The second part consists of an essay and/or short type questions on Gandhian thoughts and principles and would carry 60 marks. The second part would be of 3 hours duration.

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Application Procedure

The notifications for MGIMS MBBS 2013 Application Submission Process have not been released yet and will be made available as soon as the forms are released. As per the website notification, the forms will be released in between 21st December 2012 and 5th March 2013.

Candidates seeking admission to M.B.B.S. course of MGIMS can obtain Prospectus and Application form.
  1. Either by paying only Rs 4000 in cash at the Cash counter of Account Section in premises of Administrative Complex of KHS and MGIMS, or by paying Rs. 4000 to State Bank of India through bank challan.
  2. If the candidate wants to submit the fee by bank challan he should click the link of the bank challan, fill the information required and submit it.
  3. Candidate should mention full name address with pin code number on which the candidate wants to receive the prospectus & phone number for communication in the space provided on the challan form so that the prospectus can be sent to the given address.
  4. The candidate is required to take a printout of the saved copy in landscape on legal size paper and has to visit the nearest branch of State Bank of India for submission of the required charges.
  5. The Challan form is in three copies and the candidate has to send one original paid copy of the challan form to the “Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, 442102” by speed post.
  • The prospectus will be sent to the candidate on receipt of the copy of the challan stamped paid by the bank.
  • The Institute will not be responsible for delay/loss in transit of application form due to postal problem or incorrect address without pin code provided on the challan form by the applicant.
  • The cost of application form is same for all the candidates.
  • Fee once submitted for purchasing the prospectus will neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn
  • Candidates should go through the Prospectus carefully for eligibility criteria, scheme, pattern of examination etc before contacting the Institute for any queries. Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will only be entertained if the information requested is not given in Prospectus.
  • Incomplete applications or applications not in accordance with instructions will not be considered and are liable to be rejected. The examination fee will not be refunded in such cases.

MGIMS MBBS 2013 Notifications

The notifications for MGIMS MBBS 2013 Application Submission Process have not been released yet and will be made available as soon as the forms are released. As per the website notification, the forms will be released in between 21st December 2012 and 5th March 2013.

The MGIMS - PMT 2013 Application Submission Process will involve the steps which the candidates have to take on order to apply for the exam and will basically consist of the following:

  1. Obtaining the form from the Dean’s Office on payment of Rs. 4000/- or via a payment of SBI Bank Challan which will be available on www.mgims.ac.in along with the instructions which have to be followed for Challan submission.
  2. Fill the MGIMS - PMT 2013 Application Form after reading the instructions. 
  3. The candidates have to submit the filled form at the MGIMS 2013 office and complete the MGIMS - PMT 2013 Application Submission Process before the 15th of March 2013.
