 JIPMER UG 2015 Medical Entrance Exam

Mode of JIPMER 2015 Entrance Exam: Online
The examination will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) / Online.
METHOD OF EXAMINATION:
(1) The examination shall be conducted in ENGLISH only.
(2) The questions for JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination 2015 will be based on the syllabus for XI & XII Standard as prescribed by State Board HSC and CBSE.
(3) On-Line Based Distributed Object System of Examination.
The Entrance Examination is common to all and consists of 200 single best response type MCQs and will cover all subjects.
(4) The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of Physics (60 Marks), Chemistry (60 Marks), Biology (60 Marks) & English (20 Marks). Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. No NEGATIVE MARKING.
(5) All questions will be of one best / correct response type having four alternatives.
(6) The response of the candidate for a question(s), on click of “submit button” before closing of Examination shall be considered as the response chosen by the candidate.

 All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2015 

ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS COURSE, 2015 UNDER 15% MERIT POSITIONS IN MEDICAL/DENTAL COLLEGES.

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the All India Pre- Medical/ Pre-Dental Entrance Examination for 2015 under 15 per cent merit of All India Quota seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges all over the country except the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir for the 2015-16 academic session. The test is to be conducted on May 03, 2015, which is a Sunday, in selected cities across the country and abroad.

 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be an Indian National and should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the first year M.B.B.S. /B.D.S. course. He/she must not be above 25 years on Dec 31 of the year of the entrance. However, the upper age limit is further extended by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC students who apply for the 15 per cent All India Quota. Check out Eligibility for AIPMT 2015

AIPMT 2015 Exam Pattern

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be three hours.

Eligibility Criteria for Medical Courses MBBS 2015

Courses like radiation medicine, ophthalmology, vitreo-retinal surgery, physical medicine, sports medicine and psychiatry require an M.B.B.S. degree. In order to study M.B.B.S., a student needs to have the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Must have passed 12th standard board exam with at least 50% marks
• Subjects in the plus 2 must be Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English

Also note that not all courses require the same eligibility.

• A career in nutrition will require the student to study home science in the under graduate level
• A career in nursing will require a student to study science in the plus 2 level.

Various colleges require a different eligibility criterion. Along with the same, a student might need to attain a good score in the admission test that is recognized by the college of choice.

MBBS

Medical education in India is governed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). MBBS is a four and half year’s course which has to be succeeded by one year of Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship.

Eligibility Criteria

For students to get admission in the MBBS course, some basic criteria need to be fulfilled, as fixed by the MCI.

• Candidates must have completed 17 years of age.
• General Category candidates have to qualify 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks in Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry in aggregate. They also need to pass all the above subjects along with English, separately.  For SC/ST/OBC students, the minimum percentage is 40%.
• The minimum marks will be at 50^th percentile in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for general candidates. For SC/ST/OBC, it has to 40^th percentile. The percentile will be determined on the basis of highest marks obtained in this test.

Eligibility for MBBS Admission

The minimum eligibility requirements for admission in a Medical college are: 10+2 or Higher Secondary equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2015 whose result is awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counseling

(i) He/ She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
(ii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

(b) 17 Years (Other Category)

Eligibility for State Quota Seats
(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

(ii ) Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments and the Government of India.
