Medical education in India is governed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). MBBS is a four and half year’s course which has to be succeeded by one year of Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship.
Eligibility Criteria
For students to get admission in the MBBS course, some basic criteria need to be fulfilled, as fixed by the MCI.
  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age.
  • General Category candidates have to qualify 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks in Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry in aggregate. They also need to pass all the above subjects along with English, separately.  For SC/ST/OBC students, the minimum percentage is 40%.
  • The minimum marks will be at 50th percentile in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for general candidates. For SC/ST/OBC, it has to 40th percentile. The percentile will be determined on the basis of highest marks obtained in this test.

  • National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) instead of AIPMT which was conducted by CBSE.
