Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital (LTMGH), Admission open-2016 , Mumbai

About Us :

Lokmanya Tilak Medical College and Hospital is one of the premier medical institutions of India.  Even though it is youngest of all the three major municipal teaching hospitals, it stands today proudly recognized nationally and internationally. On 30th November 1964 Lokmanya Tilak Medical College was established with the first batch of 60 students.  The college has turned out as an excellent undergraduate, post graduate and super speciality training centre and has produced quality health care professionals.  Currently LTMC has 100 MBBS students as well as more than 150 post graduate students per year in various subjects and is preferred choice amongst students. The motto ‘Service through ‘Excellence’ is never true it is to the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital. It is my proud privilege to lead these twin institutions and look forward towards its growth not only in service sector but also in academically and research over coming years. This hospital at a unique situation and is the first major referral hospital and caters to all trauma and disasters from both major highways.  Started as a fifty bedded hospital and single OPD, in a military hospital, has grown to more than 1400 beds and planning to expand over few years more rapidly.

Placements : The students have job opportunities in highly reputed hospitals of India. Well known health care centers have been visiting this college at regular intervals and offers job opportunities to the final year students.

Infrastructure : LTMMC is a government college, so it would be silly to expect out-of-the-world amenities and whatnot. But the infrastructure is certainly improving. Most classes are conducted in the new building. The laboratories are quite clean and well maintained, and the equipment in them actually works. The air conditioned library is quite big, and has enough books for the students. The college also has a tiny ground for sports, but you’ll hardly ever find anyone there. As far as the hostels are concerned, the previously abject situation is getting better. There’s still no hostel facility for first year students, who have to make their own arrangements. After this, the girls hostel is in TB Hospital in Sewri, while the boys hostel is near the Urban Health Centre in Dharavi. However, the new senior hostel is in the campus itself. The rooms are quite tiny and are on a twin sharing basis.
