Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, has been established in the year 1981 by Anandaa Social and Education Trust. The emblem of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, is a symbolic expression of compassion and sacred service to be adopted for the practice of modern medicine.Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College salutes Gautama The Buddha, ocean of compassion and Bharatha Rathna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Father of the Indian Constitution, the pole star guiding the destinies of the downtrodden of the society who inspired us to take upon ourselves the onerous task of running this institution. In this lush green campus of 25 acres of land at Kadugondanahalli, the Trust runs a Medical College including Hospital, School of Nursing, College of Nursing, Paramedical Institute which has colleges of Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology and Radiography. The elegant and imposing college building with its beautiful architectural design attracts the attention of all visitors. It is well planned and accommodates the Administrative block, Trust office, departments and a modern OPD Block. The hospital with 600 beds is also situated on the campus. The college is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college runs the MBBS course as well as post-graduate courses in many subjects that are recognized by the Medical Council of India. Hostels: The college runs hostels for the men and women students separately within the campus at Kadugondanahalli. The hostel buildings with spacious rooms, lounges, recreation room having colour television sets in each of the hostels, with all other modern amenities, are built to ensure comfortable stay of the inmates, and a proper atmosphere for study. The women students' hostel, with a view to ensure absolute safety of the inmates, is fenced properly and secured Internet : Every Department and hospital has dedicated internet connection in the campus and provide round the clock access to resources on the net. Wireless network is also enabled in the college building, OPD block, Hospital, Library & Class room. ATM Facility : An ATM too is conveniently located in the campus.

Ortho DCH (Paediatrics) DVD (Dermatology) DCP (Pathology) DA (Anaesthesia) DOMS (Ophthalmo) Eligibility: MBBS : Candidates seeking admission to MBBS course should have passed the two year Pre-University course /Standard XII (10+2) examination with physics, Chemistry and Biology as electives with English as one of the subject 50% of the aggregate marks in electives taken together at the qualifying examination and CET/COMED-K entrance tests For OBC 3A category and SC/ST students of Karnataka , required marks is relaxed to 40% in the electives. Otherwise the eligibility conditions remain the same for them also. The Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences is the authority to decide equivalence of any other examination hence clarification may be sought directly from him. The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of admission. The candidates from other states seeking admission to MBBS course must obtain eligibility certificate From Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka Selection : 40% of the seats reserved for Karnataka students. The selection of students is on the basis of merit in the common entrance test conducted by Govt of Karnataka followed by centralised counselling 40% of the seats are reserved for any India National including Karnataka. The selection is on the basis of merit in the common entrance test conducted by consortium of Medical, Dental and Engineering Private colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) followed by centralised counselling Remaining 20% of the seats are to be filled by the Management, of which 15% is for Foreign Nationals/NRI and 5% for Institutional preference quota . The certificate amongst other things should include : height, weight, chest expansion, vision in each eye, hearing, any evidence of degenerative diseases, physical or mental infirmity or any other disease Total number of seats(MBBS) : 100 Fees(MBBS) : 3,57,000 /- Per Annum PG Courses : The Candidates should have passed MBBS Degree examination from a recognized medical college affiliated to any University in India and recognised by Medical Council of India. Candidates should have completed 1 year of compulsory rotating internship from the same college or as approved by Medical Council of India. Candidates should have registered their MBBS Degree with the respective state Medical Council. Selection : Selection of candidate shall be on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the Government of Karnataka(PGET) and Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Private colleges of Karnataka(COMED-K) followed by centralised counselling separately. The fee structure shall be decided by Govt of Karnataka every year.
