Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University was established under
Section (3) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956 on 29th
September, 2003 by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource
Development vide its notification No. F.9-11/2000-U-3. The Pravara
Medical Trust is the parent Organisaiton of the University and was
established in 1972 in a small village Loni of Ahmednagar District
(Maharashtra State) by a visionary Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil,
the founder of Co-operative movement in India. In 1976 the Trust
started providing primary and secondary level medical care with
establishment of a modest hospital of 100 beds and over a period of time
the hospital grew in to 800 beds multi-disciplinary, superspeciality
medical institute with state of art facilities.

and Health Sciences with a dedication to serve the society as a Center

health care and research. The trust has received accolades from His
Excellency Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India for the pioneer
work done in the field of integrated rural Development and appreciated
the participative model of Integrated Rural Development followed at Loni
as Role Model for the development of Rural India and has been referred
by his Excellency as operative model of PURA- Providing Urban Amenities
to Rural Area. The Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences - Deemed

B.Sc + M.Sc Medical Biotechnology Integrated
|
Eligibility:
MD/MS/MSc/Diploma:
- Candidate
seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine/Dentistry course should hold
MBBS /BDS degree of recognized University by MCI/DCI.
- A
candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or
is likely to complete the same on or before 30th April of respective
academic year can appear for AICET.
- All
such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the
Principal/ Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion
of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the
application shall be rejected.
- A
candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/DCI (as
the case may be) or any state council. If candidate does not have such
registration, he should obtain the same within one month from the date
of his/her admission.
- Candidates
who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree
course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at
AICET.
- Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at AICET.
- Candidate
who have completed Medicine postgraduate diploma course or would be
completing by 31st March respective academic year will be eligible for
AICET for admission to postgraduate degree in the same subject only.
- Candidate
should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this
University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be
on the basis of merit.
For MDS:
- Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Dentistry course should hold BDS degree of recognized University by DCI.
- A
candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or

- Candidate must be Indian National.
- The
nationality certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional
District Magistrate / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid passport
will be considered as a proof of Nationality.
- Candidate
must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent)
examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- Candidate
belonging to general category must have passed in the subjects of
Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have
obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken
together at the HSC ( or equivalent) examination.
- Candidate
belonging to backward classes must have passed in the subjects of
Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have
obtained a minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken
together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
- Candidate
should be either of 17 years of age on or attain this age as on 31st
December of the Academic year in which admission is sought.
- The
candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or
equivalent) in February/March of the respective academic year are
eligible to appear for entrance examination, however they must fulfill
the eligibility condition at the time of counseling.
- Candidate
belonging to general category should obtain minimum 50% marks in CET
(Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However,
admission will be on the basis of merit.
- Candidate
belonging to backward classes should obtain minimum 40% marks in CET
(Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However,
admission will be on the basis of merit.
- Candidates
studied (qualifying examination) under foreign system in India, are
required to obtain equivalence certificate from AIU (Association of
Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.) .
For B.P.T (Physiotherapy):
- The
Candidate must be Indian National . The nationality certificate issued
by the District Magistrate /Additional District Magistrate/ Chief
Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid passport will be considered as a
proof of Nationality.
- Candidate
must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent )
examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
&
- Candidate
should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this
University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be
on the basis of merit.
For B.Sc Nursing:
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
- Candidate must be Indian National.
- Candidate
must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent)
examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- Candidate
belonging to general category must have obtained a minimum 45% marks in
PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) at the HSC ( or
equivalent) examination.
- Candidate
belonging to SC / ST category must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in
PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) at the HSC ( or
equivalent) examination.
- The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 1994 to be eligible to appear for AICET.
- Candidate
should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this
University and should get minimum 40% marks. However, admission will be
on the basis of merit.
For P.B.B.Sc Nursing:
- Candidate must be Indian National.
- Candidate
must have passed HSC (or equivalent) examination from Arts, Science or
Commerce faculty. Candidate of Science faculty will be preferred.
- Candidate must have passed GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) course from INC recognized institution.
- Candidate
should be registered as R.N. & R.M. with the State Nurses
Registration Council. A male nurse trained before the implementation of
new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State
Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved
by INC for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the
following areas
- O.T.
Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, T.B. Nursing,
Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing, Community
Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing.
- Candidates shall be admitted on the basis of merit in qualifying exam viz R.G.N.M.
For M.Sc Nursing:
- Candidate must be Indian National.
- Candidate
must have passed qualifying examination i.e. B.Sc. Nursing P.B.B.Sc
Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing from INC recognized institution with
minimum of 55 % marks. (Candidate belonging to SC / ST category must
have obtained 50 % marks)
- Candidate should be registered as R.N. & R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
- The candidates should have minimum ONE year of work experience.
- Candidate
should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this
University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be
on the basis of merit.
For M.Sc Medical Biotechnology:
- Candidate must be Indian National.
- Candidate
must have passed qualifying examination i.e. BAMS / B Pharm / MSc Agri
Biotech / BSc (Bachelor degree) with Chemistry / Botany / Zoology /
Microbiology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences / Biotechnology, with
minimum 50 % marks (Candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC must have
obtained minimum 40 % marks).
- The
candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination in April / May
of respective academic year are eligible to appear for entrance
examination, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the
time of counseling.
- The candidates sponsored by Government / Public Sector / Foreign Government / NGO are eligible for admission.
- Candidates
shall be admitted on the basis of merit in qualifying exam viz.
B.A.M.S. / B Pharm / MSc. Agri Biotech / BSc (Bachelor degree) with
Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Life
Sciences / Biotechnology, with minimum 50 % marks (Candidate belonging
to SC / ST / OBC must have obtained minimum 40 % marks).
For M.P.T:
- Candidate must be Indian National.
- Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Physiotherapy course should hold BPTh degree of recognized University by IAP.
- A
candidate who has completed 6 months compulsory rotating internship or
likely to complete the same on or before 31st July can appear for AICET.
- All
such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the
Principal / Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion
of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the
application shall be rejected.
- A
candidate should have obtained permanent registration with IAP or any
state council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should
obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.
- Candidate
should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this
University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be
on the basis of merit.
For Master of Public Health (MPH):
- B.Sc.
(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, Public
Health, Nursing, Biotechnology, Dairy Science, Veterinary Sciences, Home
Science, Computer Science, Health Science, Agriculture, etc.)
- B.A. (Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism) L.L.B., Social Work
- Graduate in Medical Science (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS), Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy
- Candidates with minimum 50% marks in above subjects from any Indian University or their equivalent.
